SPOT AS delivers piping systems and mechanical installation to Yara’s groundbreaking hydrogen plant at Herøya – the world’s first and largest pilot facility for green hydrogen production.

Yara Porsgrunn invests in pilot project for the green transition

The world’s largest and first green hydrogen plant is now being established for Yara at the Industrial Park in Herøya. This marks the launch of Yara’s – and the world’s – first and largest green hydrogen pilot facility, now being implemented within a refurbished building prepared to kickstart a new era of green energy production at Herøya.

SPOT AS has been Linde’s preferred piping and mechanical installer since the project began in May 2023. Phase 1 of the plant was completed in late autumn, and the first drops of hydrogen were successfully produced. Now, in 2024, the final phase of completion is underway.

German engineering – in close collaboration with SPOT AS – has proven to be a great combination, and we look forward to continuing the development in construction phase 2.
